Yahooo!!  (And, as verified by mayor Nenshi at our First Flip show this year – that IS the correct way to say it in Calgary – Yahoo, not YeeHaw!!)   I arrived in Nashville on Friday, because as some of you know, I have been stalking Terri Clark! (ha ha – no not really) but I DO have a bowling date with her on Tuesday at lunch (see the story as to how I got this lined up here on the website), at which I plan to get to know her, and ever so diplomatically pitch her a couple of my songs that I am CONVINCED would be awesome for her….because they require a super STRONG, real woman’s voice.   Anyway, along my travels here,  I’ve met several wonderful songwriters at the Row and at the Bluebird Cafe, and then, just tonight, I landed myself a 1/2 hour feature slot at the Row in Nashville!!!  MON AUG 18, 7:30-8:00PM.

It’s  a venue founded by songwriters in Nashville, offers amazing fried food, and has a terrific listening crowd.  So this gives me a chance to take my original, Calgary-penned songs to the stage in Nashville.   Now, if I can sell one, or even just make a few good connections to eventually sell one….that’d be THE BOMB!    Now I know most people out there may laugh at “one hit” wonders, but as musicians say, there’s a big difference between being a “one hit” wonder and being a “no hit” wonder (which I currently am!)- so I’ll just hope for my ONE HIT if I can sell ONE song – to some great artist — in my lifetime!  :)  A personal and very important goal….but I assure you, that all along the way, BEFORE the hit, I will be enjoying every minute of this journey…and sharing it as much as I can, here with you guys!   Join me on Twitter (I do tweet a lot) and Facebook at the links above, on the top left of menu bar on the website.    And if you’re in Nashville, PLEASE come to my show Monday.  If you’re back home in Calgary, come on down to our band’s next big show — LABOUR DAY — at OLYMPIC PLAZA, 11am – 2pm…no cover charge at either show.  The Olympic Plaza show in Calgary has free burgers/lunch for everyone and you can also enjoy wading in the big pool out front of the stage!   Yahoo!
