Howdy folks! Our charming and talented bass guitarist, Lawrence (Papa B) has decided to try to restore sanity to his heavily committed lifestyle (you mean he has a life outside of the Crew?) and thus resign from his ongoing duties with us…D-oh! Hmm, as a marketer, this is how my ad would read: WANTED: Talented, dedicated musician who can play electric bass smooth as butter, switch to upright bass whenever I’m in the mood, open shows on acoustic guitar, tote along and play banjo whenever I feel like doing “that one song,” sing harmonies on a whim, sing lead on as many songs as I toss him, carry me when I miss chord changes, carry a great stage presence as a part of a duo, follow me when I spontaneously throw new songs into a show, follow me whenever I reinvent the set list on the fly, read my mind when I don’t tell him what key I’m in, provide clever wit for unplanned stage banter, look good, and if needed, spend countless hours helping to arrange my songs in his basement ;) I swear – I didn’t MAKE him do it! Fortunately, Papa B he tells me he’s there for me if I’m “really desperate” – yeah, I am – until I find another one-in-a-million performer like him! Thanks PB, for all your willing slavery…I’m ridiculously lucky to have benefited from your great work over the past two years…you have been a huge piece of my story, and my success! Now, how do I find my next victim???
