I was surprised and flattered to be selected for the STARS 2027 fundraising calendar this year – ha!

Even since they rescued me from my 2022 motorcycle accident, I have been trying to assist them in their fundraising efforts in every way I can. It’s been a fun adventure.

It started with playing their 2025 anniversary open house for their 40th anniversary. Since their founder, Dr. Greg Powell had just passed away, I wrote a song for them. Then I recorded it, and performed it for them. They used my story on their website, and made a video about it.

Since then, I’ve been involved in several kinds of activities – from the STARS Home lottery to TV, Radio and mail campaigns. My picture was on their envelopes for their fundraising mailers, and I even voiced their voicemail calls.

I recently played at the Rumsey Ride – the longest-standing STARS fundraiser, going every year since 1989! The people were great, and I got to speak and play my song for them.

I’m looking forward to more collaborations with STARS. I cannot say enough about this incredible organization, and its peeople. They’re always thanking me for helping them…but I can’t thank them enough for saving ME!
